    Collection of Scientist Biographies

This chapter contains brief biographies of scientists mentioned in this textbook. Over time, it will expand with new biographies and more details added to the existing pages.

The group included computer and astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt (1868–1921), Annie Jump Cannon (1863–1941), although they do not appear in the photograph and Williamina Fleming (1857–1911), standing in the center of the image and Antonia Maury (1866–1952), with magnifying glasses, third lady from left to right.
