1. Ice and water are $$\ce{H2O}$$ molecules in different states.  Why do you think ice (frozen $$\ce{H2O}$$) floats in water (liquid $$\ce{H2O}$$); why are the densities different?

2. Is it possible to have an object float, even though the object has a higher relatively density than the fluid?
